Ferry from Split harbor to Hvar

Is there a ferry from Split harbor to Hvar on July 18th, 2011 that travels after 8:30 pm?

My flight lands at Split airport at 7:00pm. I need to catch a ferry to Hvar that same evening. I have to go through customs and I understand the drive from the airport to the harbor is around 45 minutes. Is there a passenger ferry or catamaran that leaves around 9:00pm? I don't think we can catch anything earlier because of the time crunch.

9:00pm is late...
I just checked the Jadrolinija sailing schedule and on Monday, 07/18/2011, the last ferry leaves Split at 3:00pm.

You might need to stay the night in Split and catch the first ferry to Hvar on Tuesday, 07/19/2011.

The first ferry on 07/19/2011 would leave at 11:30am (with one stop).

From port SPLIT at 19.07.2011 11:30
to port MILNA (BRAC) 19.07.2011 11:55
From port MILNA (BRAC) 19.07.2011 12:00
to port HVAR 19.07.2011 12:45

So, you would arrive in Hvar at 12:45.

ferries and catamarans

Hello,
There are catamarans, sheduled as Tobias said, but there are car ferries from Split port to the port of Stari Grad on Hvar at 8.30, 11.00, 14.30, 17.00 and 20.30. The port is about ten miles from Hvar town, but there are buses. If your friend land on time you can get that ferry at 8,30pm. Takes two hours to get to the island plus 20mins from Stari Grad to Hvar.
There is a bus line by Croatia Airlines from the airport to the port, it takes about 35 mins. If bus leaves the airport at 7,30 you can still catch the last ferry.
(although to spend a night in Split is not a bad idea, to explore the best preserved Roman palace in Mediterranean, monument that is alive....)

Last ferry to Hvar

Thank you very much for responding. I knew about the car ferry and our plan is to take the 8:30pm to Stari Grad but I was hoping there was one more ferry after that just in case we miss the 8:30pm. We have confirmed reservations in Hvar for that night. Is that the absolutely last one to get there?

I was just aware of the catamaran schedule. A really valuable tip that there are car ferries in the evening hours. I think the 20:30 ferry is at least possible to catch, Karen (if everything goes well). Although I would personally recommend to stay at least one night in Split after such a long flight from the United States...

Mislav, I think you are a real ferry-expert (much better than I am) :-)

Do you know if there's also a ferry after 8.30pm - in case Karen can't manage to arrive in time?

few more questions...

Actually we will be arriving from Ibiza on this leg of our trip. We will do our very best to catch the 8:30pm car ferry then. Can you tell us where exactly we can pick up the Croatia Airline bus and will it say "Croatia Airlines" so we can spot it easily? Can we pay the bus driver in euro? Can we pay taxis in euro? AND....when we get to the harbor, can you explain the procedure? Where do we go and do they accept the visa credit card at the ferry line? It really will help to have these questions answered because it will save precious time in order to catch that last ferry.
